In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up Single Product Linked Variations in Botiga.
Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the Botiga theme on your WordPress site. If you’re using features from Botiga Pro, ensure that both the Botiga theme and the Botiga Pro plugin are installed and active. Linked Variations is a Botiga Pro feature, so this requires Botiga Pro.
This feature is bundled as a module within Botiga Pro. To start using it, enable the module from Appearance » Theme Dashboard.
Once the module is enabled, new options become available across the theme. Follow the steps below to set up linked variations correctly.
Step 1: Create the attributes
Navigate to Products » Attributes, set a name and slug, then click Configure terms to add terms.
If the attributes you need already exist, check that the terms are fully configured. Add new terms or edit the existing ones as needed.
Step 2: Confirm the product attributes
Open the single product page, go to the Product Data section, open the Attributes tab, and check the dropdown to make sure the chosen attributes match the ones you configured above.
Step 3: Add the attributes to every linked product
Make sure you’ve added the chosen attributes to all products you plan to link.
- The selected attributes for the linked variation must be common to all chosen products.
- The terms used for variations must be distinct so each linked variation can be told apart in the preview step.
Step 4: Build the linked variation
Navigate to Products » Linked Variations and open the dashboard:
- Type to search for and add products.
- Choose the selected attributes.
- Press Update Options.
