Would you like to build custom block-based templates for your Sydney site? The Block Templates module lets you create and manage templates for core parts of your theme, such as the header, footer, single post, and archive layouts, all from the WordPress site editor.

Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the Sydney theme on your WordPress site. If you’re using features from Sydney Pro, ensure that both the Sydney theme and the Sydney Pro plugin are installed and active.
Activating the Block Templates Module
- Go to Appearance >> Theme Dashboard in your WordPress admin area.
- Locate the Block Templates module and click Activate.
- Click Customize to jump directly to the relevant Customizer section.
Creating Block Templates
From the Customizer, click the link that opens the block template creation interface.

Inside the template parts interface, you can create templates for the following elements:
- Header
- Footer
- Single post
- Single page
- Archive
- Search
- 404 page
After you create the templates you want, return to the Customizer section and enable the templates you’d like to use on your site.
