Would you like to drop a fully designed layout, such as featured products or a promo block, inside your navigation menu? Botiga Pro lets you build a custom template with the Templates Builder and display it inside a mega menu using a Custom Content Block.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to use a custom template inside a mega menu in Botiga.
Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the Botiga theme on your WordPress site. If you’re using features from Botiga Pro, ensure that both the Botiga theme and the Botiga Pro plugin are installed and active. The Templates Builder and Mega Menu modules are Botiga Pro features, so this requires Botiga Pro.
1. Go to Botiga » Theme Dashboard and activate both the Templates Builder and Mega Menu modules.

2. In the Templates Builder module, click on Build Templates.

3. Click on Add Template.

4. Name your template.

5. Click on Create New and select your preferred builder.

The Templates Builder works with either the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg) or the Elementor page builder.
6. If you’re using the Block Editor, click the plus icon and search for the Botiga Templates Builder components to insert on the page. If you’re using Elementor, skip this step and move on to the next one.

7. If you’re using Elementor, you’ll find the Botiga widgets under Botiga WooCommerce in the left sidebar. If you’re using the Block Editor, skip this step and follow step 6 instead.

8. Once you’re done, save or publish your changes.
9. Go to Botiga » Theme Dashboard, find the Mega Menu module, and click Customize to create a new mega menu. This guide assumes you already know how to create a mega menu. If you don’t, see the mega menu documentation.

10. Edit your mega menu, open the Content options, set the Content Type dropdown to Custom Content Block, and select the custom content block you created.

Frequently asked questions
Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about using a custom template inside a mega menu in Botiga.
Can I use the same template in more than one mega menu?
Yes. A custom content block can be selected in any mega menu, so you can reuse the same template across several menu items.
My template doesn’t appear in the Content Block dropdown. Why?
Make sure you saved the template in the Templates Builder and that both the Templates Builder and Mega Menu modules are active. Only saved templates show up in the dropdown.
