Pro A Quick Start Guide to Sydney Pro

In this quick start guide, we’ll look into how to get started with Sydney Pro.

Sydney Pro is a premium WordPress theme that gives you access to Sydney’s free and Pro features and starter sites.

To use Sydney Pro, you don’t need to install and activate the free Sydney theme, as it includes all of its features.

1. Install Sydney Pro

In your WordPress admin area, open the Appearance > Theme menu from the left sidebar.

Then, click the Add New Theme button:

3. Import a Starter Site (optional)

Starter sites (or demos) are pre-made website designs created with Sydney Pro that include content, images, widgets, and Customizer configurations.

While importing a starter site is not a prerequisite of Sydney Pro, it can help you set up a professional-looking, fully functional WordPress site quickly.

To import a starter site, click the Starter Sites tab in the Theme Dashboard.

If you don’t have the aThemes demo importer plugin activated on your site, Sydney Pro will show you a prompt where you can install and activate it:

Once the demo importer plugin is activated, choose a starter site. Sydney Pro gives you access to both the free and premium demos.

You can preview each starter site by clicking the Preview button.

If you find one that you like, click the Import button to add it to your WordPress site:

  1. Select the elements you want to import.
  2. Select the plugins you want to import (note that some of the plugins are required).

Once the import process is completed, you can choose between two options:

  • Customize – This option takes you straight to the Customizer where you can fine-tune your design.
  • View Site – This option opens your site so that you can check out your new design.
