Note: The footer widgets settings described below apply to the legacy footer system. In recent versions of Sydney, the footer is managed through the Header & Footer Builder, which provides a more flexible row-based layout with drag-and-drop components.
In the Footer Builder, widget areas are available as individual components (Widget Area 1 through Widget Area 4) that you can place in any row and column. To add widgets to these areas, go to Appearance > Widgets and populate the corresponding widget areas. You can style each row, column, and component directly in the builder.
If you are using an older version of Sydney that still uses the legacy footer system, the information below still applies.
All the available footer widgets options are located in Customize > Footer > Footer Widgets.
How to Display Widgets in Your Footer
- Select your layout — Widgets can be displayed on up to four columns, depending on the layout you choose. Each column will be a new widget area that you can populate from Appearance > Widgets. You can also disable them completely.
- Click on the shortcut links — After you’ve selected a layout, you’ll notice some shortcut links that will take you to the widgets interface. The number of links is based on the layout you’ve selected.
- Add your widgets — Repeat for all your footer widget areas.
Other Settings
- Container type — The footer widgets can be contained or fullwidth.
- Vertical alignment — Align all your widget columns to the top, middle, or bottom.
- Visibility — Choose to display your footer widgets on all devices, only desktop, or only tablet and mobile.
