The Taxonomy Terms Widget allows you to showcase categories, tags, or custom taxonomies beautifully and intuitively. It provides advanced customization, letting you control the layout, appearance, and elements displayed.
Activate the Widget
- Go to your WordPress admin and open the aThemes Addons dashboard.
- Locate the Taxonomy Terms widget.
- Toggle the switch to activate. The widget will appear in your Elementor editor.
Widget Options
Content Settings
- Taxonomy: Select taxonomy type (categories, tags, or custom taxonomies).
- Terms to Include: Choose to show all terms, specific terms, or child terms.
- Terms to Exclude: Exclude certain terms from display.
- Number of Terms: Limit how many terms are displayed (when showing all terms).
- Order & Sorting: Sort by name, count, ID, slug, or custom order.
- Hide Empty Terms: Show or hide terms without associated posts.

- Design Style: Display terms inline or stacked.
- Layout Type: Choose between Grid or List layout.
- Columns: Set the number of columns in grid mode.
- Items Gap: Adjust spacing between terms.
Elements Display Options
- Icon: Display an optional icon next to terms.
- Term Count: Show or hide the count of posts per term.
- Description: Optionally show a short description for each term.
- Term Images: Enable term images (uses Woocommerce product category images or requires Categories Images plugin for other taxonomies).
Styling Options
- Item Styling: Customize item backgrounds, borders, padding, shadows, and hover effects.
- Typography: Adjust fonts and colors for titles, descriptions, and term counts.
- Icon & Images: Set icon sizes, colors, and image border-radius, margin, and width.
