[Pro] Using the aThemes Patcher

Want to keep your site running smoothly without waiting for the next full update? The aThemes Patcher delivers targeted fixes for issues between regular product updates, ensuring your website stays secure and performs at its best with minimal effort.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to use the aThemes Patcher to apply quick fixes to your aThemes products.

Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the Sydney theme on your WordPress site. If you’re using features from Sydney Pro, ensure that both the Sydney theme and the Sydney Pro plugin are installed and active. An active license code is required to access and apply patches.

Viewing Supported Products

The aThemes Patcher works with the following products:

  • Sydney Pro
  • Botiga Pro
  • Merchant Pro
  • aThemes Addons Pro

Accessing and Managing Patches

View and manage available patches through your WordPress dashboard. Navigate to the left admin sidebar and open the menu for the product you are using (Sydney, Botiga, Merchant, or aThemes Addons). The patch list updates regularly, but applying patches is optional.

Understanding Patches vs. Full Updates

Not all reported issues affect every user. Many bugs are minor and only impact a small number of sites. Instead of releasing frequent full updates, the aThemes Patcher delivers focused fixes containing only the necessary files to resolve specific issues.

Critical and widespread issues will still trigger a full product update. When you install the next full update, all previously applied patches are automatically replaced, as their fixes are already included in the update.

That’s it! You’ve successfully learned how to use the aThemes Patcher to apply quick fixes between updates.
