Would you like to translate the text Merchant adds to your store into another language? The free Loco Translate plugin lets you translate Merchant’s strings directly, without a full multilingual setup.

As an example, let’s say you’re using the Merchant Checkouts module with the Shopify multi-step layout, and there’s text on the checkout pages you want to translate.
1. Install Loco Translate
First, install and activate the free Loco Translate plugin from WordPress.org.
2. Set up Loco Translate
From your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Loco Translate » Plugins and click the Merchant Pro link. Click + New Language, then choose the language you want to translate strings into.
Leave the location set to Custom, then click the Start translating button.
From here, search for the strings you want to translate. For example, say you want to translate the string “Contact Information” on the checkout page, with the Checkouts module active and the multi-step Shopify layout selected:
Search for the string, translate it into your chosen language, then click the Save button when you’re done.
3. Check that everything is working
If you haven’t already, switch your site to the language you added the translation for. Go to Settings » General » Site Language:
Then visit the frontend page where you expect the translation to appear, such as the checkout page. Your translated strings should now show on the frontend.
Note: If you need to translate a string that appears in WooCommerce but not in Merchant Pro, such as a checkout string when you aren’t using the Merchant Checkouts module, go to Loco Translate » Plugins » WooCommerce to find and translate it.

Can I translate strings that aren’t in the module settings?
Yes. Loco Translate is the right tool for strings hardcoded into Merchant, where there’s no option to define the text from the module settings.
What if the string is from WooCommerce, not Merchant?
Go to Loco Translate » Plugins » WooCommerce instead of the Merchant Pro entry, then search for and translate the string there.
