[PRO] Setting Up Advanced Reviews

Would you like a cleaner, more capable product reviews section than the WooCommerce default? Botiga Pro improves the default reviews system with a new workflow and layout, including star-based filtering, sorting controls, and custom styling.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up Advanced Reviews in Botiga.

Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the Botiga theme on your WordPress site. If you’re using features from Botiga Pro, ensure that both the Botiga theme and the Botiga Pro plugin are installed and active. Advanced Reviews is a Botiga Pro feature, so this requires Botiga Pro.

Enable Advanced Reviews in Appearance » Customize » WooCommerce » Single Products » Advanced Reviews. The settings are organized into two tabs: General and Style.

General

  • Default Reviews Sorting: Controls the order reviews appear in on first load. The options are Newest, Oldest, Top Rated, and Low Rated.
  • Settings » Discussion: By default, WordPress doesn’t paginate comments or reviews. Clicking the link in this option takes you to the WordPress settings. To enable pagination, check the option and set “Break comments into pages with” to your preferred value.
  • Pagination Type: Controls the pagination type, either Default or Load More Button. This works only when comment pagination is enabled.
  • Display Order: Controls where the reviews section sits. Lower values move it up the page, higher values move it down.

Style

  • Section Background Color: Sets the background color of the reviews section.
  • Stars Background Color: Sets the background color of the review stars.
  • Stars Color: Sets the fill color of the review stars.

The Advanced Reviews module replaces the default WooCommerce reviews layout with an improved design that includes star-based filtering, sorting controls, and a modern visual style.
