[Pro] Setting Up the Stock Scarcity Module

Want to motivate customers to buy before a product runs out? The Stock Scarcity module in Merchant Pro displays a progress bar on WooCommerce product pages when stock is running low, creating a sense of urgency that encourages faster purchasing decisions.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to configure and enable the Stock Scarcity module in Merchant Pro.


Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the Merchant plugin on your WordPress site. If you’re using premium modules, ensure you have Merchant Pro installed and active.

1. Opening the Stock Scarcity Module

Open your Merchant dashboard by clicking the Merchant menu in the left sidebar of your WordPress admin area. Find the Convert More section, and click the Stock Scarcity module to open its settings page.

2. Configuring the Module Settings

On the Stock Scarcity settings page, review and configure the following three groups of settings before activating the module:

  1. Settings: Define the placement of the progress bar and the low-stock threshold below which it appears on product pages.
  2. Text Formatting Settings: Change the text that Merchant Pro displays above the progress bar.
  3. Style Settings: Customize the design of the progress bar.

Once you’ve configured all the settings, click the Save button in the top-right corner of the page.

3. Enabling the Stock Scarcity Module

To activate the module, click the Enable button at the top of the page.

4. Tracking Stock Quantity for Your Products

Merchant Pro only shows the progress bar on a product page when both of these conditions are met:

  • Stock quantity tracking is enabled for that product
  • The stock quantity is below the low-stock threshold you defined in Step 2

To enable stock tracking, go to Products >> All Products in the left sidebar of your WordPress admin area and open a product. Scroll down to the Product data section and click the Inventory tab. Check the “Track stock quantity for this product” option and fill in the Quantity field.

Scroll back to the top of the page and click the Update button to save your changes.

What happens if a product does not have stock tracking enabled?

The Stock Scarcity progress bar only appears on products where stock quantity tracking is turned on and the stock falls below your defined threshold. Products without tracking enabled will not display the bar.

Can I change the look of the progress bar?

Yes. The Style Settings section lets you customize the progress bar’s colors and design to match your store’s branding.
