Using the Container Block (Legacy)

Want to combine multiple blocks into a single styled row on your WordPress site? The legacy Container block in aThemes Blocks acts as a wrapper that lets you control alignment, background, and spacing for everything inside it, helping you build full website sections and layouts.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to configure the legacy Container block with aThemes Blocks.

Before you get started, make sure you’ve installed and activated the aThemes Blocks plugin on your WordPress site. For new projects, we recommend using the newer Flex Container block instead.

Configuring General Settings

With the Container block selected, open the General tab in the settings sidebar:

  • Content Width – Change the container’s width. Responsive tabs are available, with two units: PX and percentage.
  • Border Radius – Set the radius on the entire container block for a rounded square effect.
  • Z-Index – Move the block backward or forward in the stacking order.
  • Content Alignment – Align inner content to left, center, or right. Responsive tabs are also present.

  • Color – Use the RGBA picker to set a solid background color.
